3LAU is a mashup dj who is trying his hand at remixing, and has just released a remix of James Egbert’s Back To New. The song features the original tracks vocals but 3LAU takes what used to be a heavy electro drop and turns it into a uplifting synth drop. Enjoy this one!
Due to my recent travels, I managed to get into the depths of my iPod (40gbs worth of music). I seem to have stumbled upon a playlist I created back in the day of rock and rap mashups so here we go…
First up we have Rusko killing it in a remix of 2Pac’s California Love, not much to say Rusko rarely disappoints, this track has it all beats, brakes, and bass.
Truer to the mashup genre, Mr. Brenton Duvall takes the beat from Semisonic’s Closing Time and elegantly places Biggie’s Whatchu Want to create a truly unique type of track.
Mizera takes Biggie to another level, by taking Glitch Mob’s reconfiguration of Daft Punk’s Derezzed (side note: Daft Punk killed the Tron soundtrack BEST. OST. EVER.) and blend it with the lyrics of Notorious B.I.G ’s Juicy.
Love and Lights take the Red Hot Chili Peppers and remix them to make some red hot EDM bangers. Love and Lights take the infamous bass chord and manipulate throughout the entire song.
Then we have the Smirnoff Ice sponsored Icelandic DJ Oli Geir completly tearing up Sex on Fire and throwing in some Afrojack and the only man to die like 3 times last year David Guetta to make a ridiculously epic track.
Finally were gonna go back take Incubus’ Drive and give it a make over worthy of 2012, and who better to take a track back to the future than Acetronik & 3LAU.
