The Alarm (Original Mix)
A favorite electro duo of mine, Autoerotique, who are always pushing the boundries of their genre have teamed up with Felix Cartel to release ‘The Alarm’ on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak records. This is a pretty huge collaboration between an up and coming group and a producer that has already concreted himself one of the best electro producers out their today. The track is as big as the hype behind it, the title really says it all. Get woken up by this track, enjoy!

Best Of 2012: Honorable Mentions
As 2012 comes to a close we here at ELB have been working hard to make up our list of the best songs of the year. This year we’ve decided to change how we made the lists, instead of five volumes of our favorite tracks we’ve decided to create a list of our top 100 tracks from January to November (December will be getting its normal Best Of Lists)! As you know 2012 has been a huge year for EDM so cutting the list to 100 was so hard that we had to cut a few tracks that we really loved. However we feel like we have to share them with you, so we decided to create an honorable mentions list. So without further ado here’s the last 15 songs (still really good songs) we had to cut to get to 100 cause they deserve some love!

Tonight (Autoerotique Remix)
The boys from Canada known as Autoerotique have been on a tear as of late, and their latest release ‘Tonight’ which is a remix of Felix Cartal and Maja Ivarsson, is definitely my favorite production of their in a long time. The song features great vocals by Maja Ivarsson which are dropped into a classic Autoerotique electro line that is then built up to a return of the vocals… This might be my favorite Autoerotique song I’ve heard since their remix of ‘House Music’…enjoy!

Pacha NYC: John Dahlback Recap and Review
Real excited to do this write up about John Dahlback at Pacha NYC which was last Friday June 29th. Gina Turner opened up with a great set of club tracks that definitely got me excited for Dahlback. Deniz Koyu ended up getting put on the roster for this show as well and in my mind I thought that he would go on first and Dahlback would play his set at like 3am or something but that was not the case. Anyway amazing job by Pacha as usual to get such great names to come out and to get such great names on the same night. They definitely deserved winning best club in the US at The International Dance Music Awards. Thanks a lot to Megan for getting myself and Brittney on her list for the show, always appreciative of that. Anyway fortunately enough (because I was pretty tired after a long day at work) Dahlback actually went on right after Gina Turner at 1am. Pacha wasn’t super packed like it was last time I was there for their 6th Birthday Party which had a crazy amount of big names on the lineup so this time we were able to get an awesome spot downstairs to watch his set. From their I was able to ID and keep track of just about his whole set straight through (minus a few bootlegs maybe) until he handed the decks over to Koyu at about 3:45am. Similar to the EDC review and recap I did I will go through his set with some links to the songs to YouTube and stuff and at the end I am going to give you my top 5 picks of must have tracks from his set that night (only ones that have been released and you will be able to get). So here it is my recap and review of John Dahlback at Pacha NYC June 29th!
The screens at Pacha started to show his little helmet emblem and his name and I looked over and sure enough at the booth Dahlback was mixing out of Gina Turner’s last track. John opened up his set with The Naked & Famous’s ‘Young Blood’, I was moving to my spot at this time so I am not entirely sure but I don’t think it was the Tiesto & Hardwell remix I think it maybe was a new remix or bootleg of it by Dahlback himself. Next up he dropped one of my favorite tracks lately and definitely a club favorite that got Pacha moving, Tristan Garner & Gregori Klosman’s ‘Bounce’. This track bumps and sounds amazing live, he mashed it up with one of NYCs favorites, A-Trak’s remix of the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s ‘Heads Will Roll’. Here is when he really started getting into it, he dropped one of my favorite tracks by him ever his remix of Sneaky Sound System’s ‘Big’ then right into Dirty South’s remix of one of Dahlback’s latest tracks ‘Embrace Me’. These two back to back were absolutely amazing, I grabbed a video of ‘Embrace Me’ which I will post at the bottom of this. After ‘Embrace Me’ he dropped one of my favorite mash-ups I have heard lately, Gareth Emery’s mash-up of Maison and Dragen’s remix of ‘The Night Out’ by Solveig with John Dahlback’s ‘Life’. After that he dropped another one of his classic’s his track with Erik Hassle ‘One Last Ride’ but instead of his original he decided to drop Tommy Trash’s remix of the track which is an absolutely massive track. Next he brought back a classic with Eric Prydz vs Pink Floyd ‘Proper Education which people definitely still get a rise out of due to the fact that we as human beings are practically born knowing the lyrics to that song so it makes for a good sing along. He went with another crowd pleaser next with the super popular Nari & Milani track ‘Atom’ which is a staple in just about every DJs set this year. I believe John went with the Maurizio Gubellini & Delayers Remix though instead of the original which still hits super hard. He went with another one of his own tracks next with ‘Grunge’, which I think is a song that may have gotten overlooked by a lot of people and its a song that definitely deserves to be a household name. I was so happy and surprised with what was next, one of my favorites if not my favorite track of the year so far Porter Robinson’s ‘Language’ which is just an absolutely beautiful song. John bootlegged a crowd favorite, Temper Trap’s ‘Sweet Disposition’, with one of his own tracks, ‘Escape’, to create a really great live bootleg (here is something close). Dahlback continued along with another bootleg this time of Avicii’s ‘Silhouettes’ mashed up with Nicky Romero’s monster track ‘Toulouse’ which I was pleasantly surprised worked very well together. He then played a string of some of his originals, back to back was two of his tracks from his summer preview video ‘No Doubt’ and Panic’ right into the awesome track he released earlier this year ‘Take This Thing Back’. He then dropped Tiesto & Showtek’s new massive track ‘Hell Yeah’ into Matt Caseli & Danny Freakazoid ‘Raise Your Hands’ into one of the hardest hitting tracks out there Nicky Romero & ZROQ’s ‘WTF!?’. John had another bootleg after that he mashed Tiesto’s ‘Chasing Summers’ with The Party Squad & Afrojack’s track ‘Amsterdamn’ right into another crowd favorite and a staple of many DJs sets over the past year the Bingo Player’s track ‘Rattle’. After a bootleg of Whitney Houston’s ‘Its Not Right But Its Okay’ John dropped another one of the tracks from his summer preview video this time it was the ‘ID’ from the video which I am dying to get my hands on. Another song I was super happy to hear in his set was M-3ox feat. Heidrun-Beating Of My Heart (Matisse & Sadko Remix) which has definitely been a favorite of mine for quite some time now. He dropped two more of the tracks from the summer preview video next this time it was ‘Comet’ and ‘Get Wild’ back to back before he went into his remix of Skylar Grey’s ‘Invisible’,which I absolutely love that track so much. His set was winding down but he saved some great tracks for the back end like his next track which was the Autoerotique, who are some of my favorite producers out there, remix of NERVO, Afrojack and Steve Aoki’s track ‘We’re All No One’. I was also pleasantly surprised for what came next which was one of my favorite tracks that has come out lately Third Party’s ‘Thank You’ , which is loaded with Third Party’s awesome signature uplifting synths. Next up was a remix of Zedd’s latest track with Matthew Koma ‘Spectrum’ but instead of the original which definitely wouldn’t have nessecarily fit very well into his set he went with a remix, which I am pretty positive was either the Jakob Liedholm Remix or the Steerner & Tjernberg Remix. Finally John Dahlback finished his set up with a massive bootleg of The Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Greyhound’ paired up with Example’s ‘Changed The Way Your Kiss Me’ which was an absolutely great closer. Below is the video I managed to get of Dahlback dropping Dirty South’s remix of ‘Embrace Me’!
Mikey’s Five Must Have Tracks From John Dahlback’s Pacha NYC Set:
Sneaky Sound System – Big (John Dahlback Remix)

New Le Gunner
Le Gunner has just dropped two new songs, a remix of Autoerotique’s ‘WTF’ and an original which is entitled ‘Antishock’. His remix of Autoerotique’s WTF is great, it takes the build up from the original track, but instead of dropping it into electro madness like the original does, Le Gunner drops it into a nice chill dance track. The second track Le Gunner dropped is entitled Antishock, and it’s upbeat electro track which features a nice build up into an electro drop which is then brought into an awesome harmonious synth interlude, which is then brought back into the original drop. Le Gunner has been dropping some nice tracks as of late and if you like this one check out the Affiliated Artist page on ELB! Enjoy

Autoerotique – EKG EP
Yesterday Autoerotique brought us their remix of Shockwave, today they bring us a brand new EP entitled EKG. The EP has three tracks that vary in styles, however they both still contain Autoerotique’s unique style. The first song off the EP is entitled ‘WTF’ and it is eerily similar to Nicky Romero’s recent release ‘WTF?!’ containing a vocal that screams ‘WHAT THE FUCK’ and then dropping into some electro house madness. The second song off EKG is called ‘Roll The Drums’ is a progressive track that features great vocals that are built up till the Canadian bros literally ‘Roll The Drums’. Last but not least is a track entitled EKG which features a wavy intro that is built up, dropped and built up again just to be dropped again. This one uses some of the stereotypical Autoerotique sounds that we all know and love! Enjoy!

Shockwave (Original & Autoerotique Remix)
I have a new track from Toronto based producer St Mandrew off his new EP Error 404 called ‘Shockwave’. The original mix of this song is a nu disco electro club track that keeps a solid beat and bassline throughout the whole track while keeping it interesting with some fidgety electro synths and keeps constantly building. To supplement the original I have a remix from the Toronto based producing duo of Autoerotique. Now I was very excited when I saw that Autoerotique decided to give their treatment to this track and they did not disappoint. They added a little sample to the track “Oooo shock me” and made the buildups and drops bigger than in the original and added some of the distorted synths they are known for but kept some of the best parts of the original. I’m always a huge fan of Autoerotiques remix and this one is another fine product of the group. Which do you prefer the original or the Autoerotique remix? Let us know and enjoy!
