Here goes nothing, my write up of All Mixed Up on Saturday October 27, 2012 in New York City at Pier 94 featuring the incredible talents of Sebastian Ingrosoo, Alesso and Otto Knows. First and foremost another amazing job by the event team at Pacha NYC for putting this thing together at such a large venue, always a flawless production. This was my first time attending a show at Pier 94 so I was unsure of exactly how the venue is set up, its kind of outdoors but in a large tent so its also a bit indoors I suppose. Now this was of course a Halloween show and along with I guess you could say it’s sister show, The Haunted Coliseum at Nassau, the DJs played a set at the Coliseum then made their way to the Pier right afterwards for their sets their. Pretty genius idea to sellout to enormous arenas and have it worked out so easily. Enough introduction lets get to the sets starting with Otto Knows, who I did miss a good chunk of because as usual I was late but I did get some of his set so continue reading here!

Pascal & Pearce feat. Juliet Harding – Disco Sun (Original Mix + Remixes)
Pascal & Pearce have dropped their new song ‘Disco Sun’ that features vocals from Juliet Harding. This one has great vocals and because of this it has been very popular to remix among some big time producers like DubVision, David Jones, and Starkillers. The one constant and all the different mixes of the song is Juliet Harding’s vocals, but other than that everyone takes a different approach to the song. The original is electro house, David Jones takes a dub stepish approach to the track, DubVision goes progressive with it, and The Starkillers give it a very hard electro drop… Let us know which mix you like best, and enjoy!

When You Feel, Cosmic, Higher & Strobe
Mixed bag post here of a bunch of good tunes. First up my favorite of the bunch a track called ‘Cosmic’ by Ziggy. You could have told me this was an Alesso track and I would have easily believed you, awesome song loving the synths and cuts on the drop. Next is ‘Higher’ by Brilliant, has an awesome synth buildup and drops right into some real fun fast paced electro house. A track name that is very familiar, ‘Strobe’, this time not by the Mau5 and instead a great progressive house track by Micha Moor and Andrea Dub. Lastly the vocal track of the bunch ‘When You Feel’ by Fred Lilla with vocals by Niamh. Real nice vocals building right up to the drop with a cool sounding distorted synth. Enjoy!
Brilliant – Higher (Original Mix)
Micha Moor & Andrea Dub – Strobe (Original Mix)
Fred Lilla feat. Niamh – When You Feel (Original Mix)
BONUS: A sweet Starkillers remix of the Elen Levon’s track ‘Like a Girl in Love’.

Best of 2011 Vol.5
In November Afrojack released Lionheart which I first heard at Afrojack in Umass in October. The song includes a fun build up with a super bass heavy drop.
Afrojack-Lionheart (Original Mix)
Music Box was Sidney Samson’s last release of 2011 was Music Box and it was easily his best song of the year. He strayed away from his normal beeps and bops, and added heavy a heavy bass line. I’m not the biggest Samson fan but I can’t deny that this track is phenomenal.
Sidney Samson-Music Box (Original Mix)
I saw Alesso at Pacha last night and man was it awesome, he was a great performer and was just rippin shots all night #livinthegoodlife. One song that really set the place off while were there had to be Raise Your Head. The simple lyrics into such a heavy drop was so sick to hear on really really good speakers. Also his remix of David Guetta’s Titainium was fantastic, his synths really take the track to another level.
Alesso-Raise Your Head (Original Mix)
David Guetta- Titanium (Alesso Remix)
When I heard the Swedish House Mafia was doing a colab with Knife Party I was pretty skeptical, but when I heard the final I knew it was gonna be a major hit. It’s a seriously bass heavy track for SHM, obviously it was influenced by Knife Party, but when combined with the killer verse in the middle and the bass drops again you know #everythingslookingbrighter
Swedish House Mafia vs. Knife Party-Antidote (Original Mix)
My favorite song through the past month has been Resurrection by Michael Calfan, it has one of the best piano lines I have heard in a long time, and then drops when it adds the bass line. All together it makes a great song, that should be an EDM anthem for a long time to come.
Michael Calfan-Resurrection (Axwell’s Re-Cut Club Version)
One of the biggest tracks of the year had to have been Open Your Eyes by Alex Metric and Steve Angello. The vocals are beautiful and the drop was perfect but Tim Mason really crushes the track in his remix. He takes the once kinda slow drop and adds a more upbeat and quicker drop, which really perfects the track.
Alex Metric and Steve Angello-Open Your Eyes (Tim Mason Festival Mix)
If you think of trance you have to think of Above and Beyond, they’re the 5th best dj’s according to DJ Magzines top 100 list this year. The biggest track from their new album ‘Group Therapy’ was Sun and Moon. Which included a trancy feel with absolutely beautiful lyrics and a fun drop.
Above and Beyond Featuring Richard Bedford-Sun & Moon
A very recent release by Nicky Romero has been rippin up the clubs all around the world. The track is entitled Toulose and it incorporates a nice synth line and a heavy bass drop that really catches you by surprise.
Nicky Romero-Toulouse (Original Mix)
Afrojack was easily one of my top 5 dj’s this year you can just tell by how many appearances he made on the best of the year lists, and his new jam Cant Stop Me Now is possibly my favorite of the year. It has uplifting lyrics combined with uplifting synths and when the bass drops you can’t help but dance.
Afrojack-Can’t Stop Me Now (Original Mix)
The last song is saved for my favorite song of the year, Alesso’s remix of Nadia Ali and the Starkillers jam Pressure. Alesso takes the addictive vocals and piano line, and makes a bass and synth infused drop with perfect cuts that just make you dance. ENJOY!
Nadia Ali and The Starkillers-Pressure (Alesso Remix)
Crush your NYE parties and dump Andre everywhere.

Big in Japan, Pressure.
In preparation for this Saturday when Everything Looks Brighter is taking a field trip to see Martin Solveig, Hardwell, R3hab, Quintino and Adrian Lux for the 6th year anniversary of Pacha in New York City; I give to you my favorite remix of Martin Solveig and Dragonettes latest song together Big in Japan. Denzel Park really nailed this one and I’m hoping this will be Solveig’s choice this weekend when he drops this song. Damn I love Dragonette’s vocals. Also I’ve got Tim Mason’s remix of Pressure. By now I’m sure most of you have been accustomed to listening to Alesso’s remix of this song which is incredible but give the Tim Mason one a listen and I promise you won’t be disappointed. Enjoy!
