Big post with a lot of real good remixes from some big name producers! First up I got the Deniz Koyu (pictured above) remix of Fedde Le Grand’s club hit from last year ‘So Much Love’. We loved the original but always felt it lacked a big room feel to it, well leave it do Deniz Koyu to fill that void. He made many of our favorite tunes from last year and hes kicking off 2012 right with his remix. Next up I got Tim Mason’s remix of ‘Stars Come Out’ by Zedd. Was surprised when I heard Mason would be remixing this song (which I love the original of) and also excited cause I knew the vocals could fit Mason’s style quite well. Well the remix came out awesome with some real upbeat synths in the drop and he keeps the sample. Next is a new remix from the boys in Swanky Tunes of the track ‘Ill Be There’ by The Cruzaders (who they remix quite a bit) and Dirty Basics with vocals from Shawnee Taylor. I’m never disappointed with a Swanky Tunes remix and this is no exception, they just pick such great tracks that are perfect for their style. Real beautiful vocals from Shawnee Taylor I gotta add. Finally last but definitely not least a remix from Chuckie of Example’s ‘Changed the Way You Kiss Me’. I have been waiting for a good house remix of this song for a while (I am a big fan of many of the dubstep remixes) and Chuckie has done it! Such an awesome sample and has a little bit different sound than your used to from Chuckie. Enjoy!
We have been inconistent at best with Featured Friday lately so I’m gonna do a Double Featured Friday this week. First up is Zedd! Anton Zaslavski, better known by Zedd, is an electro house producer and DJ from Kaiserslautern, Germany. He has created what he likes to call ‘Zedd style’, which draws influences from Progressive house and Dubstep. As a child Zedd learned piano and drums, eventually joining a post hardcore German band called Dioramic. After hearing Justice’s album Cross in 2009 he began producing electronic music and hasn’t looked back! He is currently signed to his friend Skrillex’s label OWSLA and has released around ten singles and about two dozen remixes to date, not bad for a 22 year old. He has toured with Deadmau5, Porter Robinson, Skrillex to name a few big names. To the music!
Here are some great vocal tracks that I have been listening to a lot lately. Tim Mason made easily one of my favorite tracks of the year with The Moment and he hasn’t stopped making amazing tracks since. His remix of the Steve Angello and Alex Metric song Open Your Eyes isn’t brand new but I think it slipped under many peoples radars and it shouldn’t have because it is way better than the original in my opinion. Next up is Zedd’s new track Stars Come Out which has his trademark electro style with some awesome vocals on the track, Zedd has really just been on fire in my opinion. Finally a new Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike remix of Break Down the Doors that is so sick, I am dying to see these guys live they make such energetic music that is definitely way better to see them deliver live.
